Bond-slip Behaviour of NSM GFRP Bars in Reinforced Recycled-Aggregate Concrete: Experiments and a Modified Model

چکیده

Bond-slip behaviour of glass fiber-reinforced polymer (GFRP) bars embedded in conventional concrete has been widely investigated. In contrast, the bond-slip near-surface mounted (NSM) GFRP bonded reinforced recycled aggregate (RAC) seems to be less explored, while materials have increasingly used due reasons environmental pollution and resource exhaustion. This study aimed experimentally theoretically examine NSM RAC under monotonic cyclic loadings. To achieve this aim, twenty-four tests were performed, which divided into two groups by each group, twelve performed on ten specimens normal (NAC) specimens. The test results confirmed brittle shear failure proximity a resin-concrete surface. can characterized nonlinear linear branches, branch dominates behaviour. Under loadings, average slips 0.238 0.284 mm, their coefficients variation (COV) relatively large at 0.142 0.130, respectively. ultimate loads had low COV around 0.038. effect loading significantly increased slip 19.3%, whereas it negligibly reduced load; consequently, stiffness was 19.4%. A modified smooth model proposed predict simplicity accuracy useful for engineers structural retrofitting using FRP technique. Doi: 10.28991/CEJ-2023-09-02-01 Full Text: PDF

Numerical Study on the Flexural Behaviour of Concrete Beams Reinforced by GFRP Bars

Enhancement of the response of reinforced concrete (RC) beams using fiber-reinforced polymer (FRP) reinforcement bars has become a popular structural technique over the past two decades due to the well-known advantages of FRP composites including their high strength-to-weight ratio and excellent corrosion resistance. Thisstudy presents n...

Performance of Continuously Reinforced Concrete Pavement Containing Recycled Concrete Aggregate

In 1995, the Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) began reconstruction in Houston on a section of IH-10 with continuously reinforced concrete pavement (CRCP). The unique aspect of this project was the use of crushed concrete as both coarse and fine aggregates in the new concrete. No virgin aggregates were used. The primary objectives of this study were to evaluate (1) the material propert...

Basic Mechanical Properties of Basalt Fiber Reinforced Recycled Aggregate Concrete

In order to study the basic mechanical properties of basalt fiber reinforced recycled aggregate concrete, the concrete mix ratio, the length and the volume mixing ratio of chopped basalt fiber yarn are designed for changing factors. A total of 324 specimens have been completed for this investigation. The compressive strength, splitting tensile strength, elastic modulus and axial compressive str...

Improved Bond Equations for Fiber-Reinforced Polymer Bars in Concrete

This paper explores a set of new equations to predict the bond strength between fiber reinforced polymer (FRP) rebar and concrete. The proposed equations are based on a comprehensive statistical analysis and existing experimental results in the literature. Namely, the most effective parameters on bond behavior of FRP concrete were first identified by applying a factorial analysis on a part of t...
